Visual Testing (VT) is the most fundamental and widely used non-destructive testing (NDT) method, relying on direct visual observation to detect surface flaws such as cracks, corrosion, misalignments, and other discontinuities. It may be conducted with the naked eye or enhanced using optical aids like magnifying glasses, mirrors, borescopes, and cameras, along with measuring tools for dimensional verification. Despite its simplicity, VT plays a crucial role in quality control and early defect detection, serving as a first-line inspection method in various industries including construction, manufacturing, aerospace, and maintenance operations.
